One system for the whole practice.
Practice software for UK accountants: client records, bookkeeping, tax and compliance in one system, in place of the five or six subscriptions a firm juggles today.
Early access by invitation. Tell us about your practice and we will be in touch.
Check a return before it goes.

A specimen VAT return for a practice and a client that do not exist. Watch each box tick against its source, look at the one that does not agree, then seal the paper as the reviewer.
Illustrative. The practice, client, people and figures shown are invented. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Every mark here is a pen mark from the auditor's legend, in one ink; red means a review point still open.
Where filing stands today
Account is being built to file to HMRC under Making Tax Digital. Filing is not switched on yet.
What exists has been tested against simulated HMRC responses.
If something is missing, Account stops and says what, rather than guessing. Returns other than VAT and Income Tax updates are prepared and exported: Account does not send them.
The same client, keyed in four times
Many practices run several separate subscriptions for practice management, tax, document capture and client communication.
The same client is keyed in more than once, a slightly different name and address in each system, and the busy season is spent moving figures between them.

One client record, used everywhere.
Client records, bookkeeping, tax computations and anti-money-laundering checks sit in one system and read the same client record, so a client is set up once rather than in five places.
One subscription in place of several.

What Account does
- Carried forwardClient register and deadlinesEvery client in one record, with every statutory date on it, ranked by what is at risk.
- Agreed to bankBookkeeping and reconciliationBank statements reconciled line by line, and each supplier's usual nominal learned from what your own people chose.
- CastTax computationsVAT, Self Assessment, Corporation Tax and CIS computed in one place, each VAT box and Income Tax figure carrying a working paper reference.
- Ruled offReview, and filing that fails safeReview points, sign-off by two people, and a return that stops and says why when something is missing.
- VouchedAnti-money-laundering checksClients and the people on their files screened against the official UK sanctions list, with a risk score recorded on file.
- Cross-castAnswers with sourcesAsk about UK tax guidance and get an answer that cites where it comes from, or a plain refusal.
- CountersignedYour clients’ sideClients upload documents, approve returns and sign declarations and engagement letters, each signature kept on record.
Each box opens its sources
Each VAT box, journal line, trial balance line and Income Tax figure carries a working paper reference, such as C202612/5. The letter is the section (C is VAT), the number after it is the month the period ends, and the last number is the box.
Open a reference and see the records the figure was made from, and whether they cast to it. Where no source was recorded, the sheet says 'No source recorded'.

Reviewed by someone other than the preparer
A reviewer raises a numbered review point against a figure. The preparer answers, a reviewer clears it, and nothing is ever deleted. The person who prepared a return cannot clear a point on it, review it or seal it.
A variance check reads each VAT return and quarterly update and raises points of its own, by fixed rules.
Two moments
Illustrative. The practice, client, people and figures shown are invented.
- A practice manager in March
- One list shows every deadline ranked by what is at risk: the job with tasks still open, the client who still owes records, the HMRC authorisation that ends before the due date.
- A bookkeeper reconciling a client's quarter
- The bank lines are matched, each supplier's usual nominal is suggested from earlier entries, and the VAT figure goes to the partner with every box opening its sources.
Who it is for
- Practices
- One workflow so no deadline is missed, and partners who can see work in progress.
- Sole practitioners
- The hours back from chasing records and watching dates.
- Bookkeepers
- The quarter reconciled and the VAT figure ready for sign-off.
- Tax advisers
- Computations in the same system as the client, and answers that cite UK tax guidance.
