Why one system
Many practices run several separate subscriptions for practice management, tax, document capture and client communication. The same client is keyed in more than once, and the busy season is spent moving figures between them.
Account exists so a practice keeps one record of each client and can trace a figure on a return back to the records it came from.
What the film shows
- One record for each client, used across the practice.
- The day opening on what needs attention, and a client with one file.
- Bank lines matched or left open, and names screened against the UK sanctions list.
- A figure opening the records it was made from.
- A box ticked only when it agrees to its source, a review point answered and cleared, and nothing deleted.
- The client approving on a phone, and the reviewer signing off with initials and date.
The seal comes last, and filing is not switched on yet. The practice, client and figures in it are invented.
